WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a one-on-one solution focused, outcome orientated, collaborative partnership where you and your Coach spend time focusing on just you – you, your life, challenges, skill levels and dreams. With this focus on you and your personal development, you will experience having someone there who believes in you, listens to you, doesn’t judge you, and totally supports you. You will develop holistically in that you work not only with your mind, body, actions, and behaviors, but also with your feelings, beliefs and higher levels of your mind.
The heart of Coaching is about choice - about choices in your life and making those choices.
You may choose to work on your vision, values, and your own life agenda so you live with- and on purpose. You may decide to move away from your current stressors in your life or focusing on co-creating, with your Coach, your own new way of living with the frames of mind and beliefs that enhance your every day experience.
You may prefer to close the gap between what you know and what you do. Or to create a higher and more skilled performance in an area you are passionate about or within your career. A coach’s role is to use effective questioning techniques to help guide you through the fog, bringing clarity and purpose back into your life. SUMMARY
Divine’s Coaching programme is unique. It is based on a solid framework of theory and practice and it gives structure and reason as to what we do and why. This model gives you and your Coach the skills to explore the structure of any experience, especially the structure of excellence. And they give you the ability to run your own brain, to manage your own states, to accelerate your learning and to enrich your life with higher-level meanings.
A coaching program consists of one coaching session per week. Each session usually lasts between 40 - 60 minutes. A typical coaching cycle lasts a minimum of 30 weeks (but is tailor made to the client’s needs). Coaching can be conducted either over the phone, face to face or over Skype. Phone and Skype coaching eliminates travel time and provides greater flexibility as the client can be coached wherever she/ he is, even overseas (only advisable if the client is travelling). Divine still prefer the face-to-face method.
How do I know if I am coachable?
To be coachable, you must ensure that:
• Your intent to change and desire to change are serious
• You are ready to work and receive feedback
• You are willing to try new ways of learning, be truthful, and keep to your commitments and inform your coach immediately when things are not working for you
• You are willing to explore, challenge, and change thoughts, feelings and actions that you recognize are self-defeating
• You understand that your coach will be focused on you and your best interests, not just your goals
• You understand that your coach will educate, support and encourage you while you do the work and reap the benefits of your efforts
• You are willing to give the coach the benefit of the doubt and try new concepts or different ways of doing things
• You recognize the value and worth you are placing on yourself by investing in your personal development
• You must be ready to have fun, grow and achieve greatness!
